SENSE OF PLACE – the Skagen painters' landscapes 1. February – 30. December 2013 The Skagen painters had a particularly well-developed sense of place – not only in the sense that they found their way to Skagen, but also in the sense that they had a particular affinity with Skagen as a place. This sense of the place found its expression, for instance, in their paintings from the area, and their portrayals have left their mark on our perception of Skagen today.
